For 3D modelers

Model with a turtle. Print the result.

Position, heading and a library of 3D shapes — then savestl.

  • Walk the model. Cones, cylinders, icospheres, cut cones, terrain. Tags turn a stretch of turtle track into a reusable part. Change :size and the object is a family, not a one-off.
  • Export STL of the current space. savestl "modelname writes one STL per colour, ready for a slicer.
  • A worked print: the chess pawn. Build it from an icosphere and cut cones, then export.
  • Landscapes print too. Terrain and craters save as STL from the File menu.
  • Same language as everything else. The model is a program. Parametric forms, not a pile of unsaved undos.

Next step

Open the IDE, click the console, and follow the chess pawn line by line. When the pawn looks right, export it with savestl.
