For parents

A thinking tool, not a typing course

Your child programs the computer — the computer does not program them.

  • No account to start, no ads, no paywall. Open the IDE in a browser and type.
  • A real text language. Logo is in the Lisp family: loops, procedures, variables and recursion in nearly the same shapes they will meet in Python or JavaScript. A blocks editor edits the same program, so the on-ramp is gentle.
  • The idea becomes visible. repeat 4 [forward 20 right 90] walks a square. When it comes out wrong, the machine did what was said, not what was meant — and closing that gap is the skill.
  • No ceiling. 3D, sound, physics and games live in the same language as the first square. They never have to throw the tool away and start over.
  • At home you can let one fascination run. If they only want fireworks for a month, that month is the curriculum.

Next step

Open the IDE, click the console, and type:

Then this, once the square makes sense:

A rosette of rotated squares — one line, and it earns the gasp.

Privacy for parents

Children can use the IDE without an account, and there are no ads. Accounts for younger children need a parent’s or school’s permission, published projects are public with their username, and AI help sends what they type to our AI provider. See Children in the Privacy Policy.
